Mustang Camp

In the spring of 2015 it was again time for a new study trip, in addition to fieldwork for my bachelor's thesis, I also spent a few weeks at Mustang Camp.

They take in Mustangs for taming and basic training. All the horses go through a program where they learn to be handled, brushed, led, have their hooves cleaned, tied and loaded onto trailers. What I found very interesting was that they only use clicker training and shaping. I wanted to see more of the work of someone who works with pure shaping and clicker training, and combined with unhandled Mustangs, the temptation was too great to resist.
